UHS – Magnet for Engineering and Technology
USHS – Magnet of Global Business and Advanced Technology

The deadline for submitting applications online is on January 25, 2023.

CRITERIA

  • Incoming 9th grader for the 2023–2024 school year.
  • Composite grade average of B (80%) for the (math, science, language arts/reading, and social studies) final report card in the 7th grade and the January 2023 report card for 8th grade.
  • Score within the appropriate range on the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) – based on the ranking of all applicants. (Onsite Online CogAT Exam)


A Magnet Parent Night presentation will be available to all interested parents and students on January 19, 2023 at 6 pm – United I.S.D. Student Activity Center

MANDATORY Onsite Online TESTING DATES

Each applicant must complete the mandatory onsite online assessment on one of the following dates (no exceptions). A Chromebook or laptop is required to take the onsite online test.

Sign in starts at 8:30 a.m./Test starts promptly at 9:00 a.m.

February 11, 2023 UHS 9th, USHS, AHS, LBJHS 9th 8:30 a.m. ‐ 12:00 noon
February 25, 2023 AHS and USHS 8:30 a.m. ‐ 12:00 noon
March 4, 2023 UHS 9th Campus 8:30 a.m. ‐ 12:00 noon
